“Rest and be thankful.” ~ William Wordsworth
I took a two-hour nap today as my sweet husband chopped and prepped veggies in the kitchen, filling two crockpots of chicken and rice soup.
It was blissful, to say the least. I feel so nurtured when he cooks…and the nap was well-needed.
Sundays are a great day for rest and reflection…and gratitude.
Today I’m thankful to have my family, together, safe at home.
I’m thankful for a husband who listens to my heart, encourages me during my struggles, and loves me through difficult days.
Especially as I swap messages with my friend who is 10 months into grieving the tragic loss of her own husband and best friend. There are no words. I can’t imagine. My heart grieves with and for her.
I’m thankful for our church family, and that God has blessed my teenagers with some amazing, amazing friends.
I’m thankful for the incredible growth Sara has experienced over the years.
And, I’m thankful for my sweet (BIG) dog, laying at my feet.
Tomorrow is sure to bring all kinds of challenges to each of us. But today I’m thankful for the time and space to rest, reflect and thank God for all of His blessings, BIG and small.
